The
Krouner family has been on this beautiful site since 1913 when
Paul's grandparents operated a dairy farm, which
later became
Krouners' Hotel. Paul's parents, Lou
and Clara, converted the hotel into Camp Schodack in 1957. Paul
Krouner has been the Owner/Director since 1970.
A graduate of Johns
Hopkins University, Paul has a Doctorate in Education from Syracuse
University. He was a teacher and
elementary
school principal and later became an Assistant Professor
of Education at Wheaton College. Linda graduated from Barnard
College and received
an MA in Sociology from Columbia University and an MM in
Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory. She currently
teaches reading in the Newton, Massachusetts Public Schools.
Paul
and Linda have two children, both Schodack alumni. A graduate of
Brown University and the Manhattan School of
Music, Rebecca
is a Content Administrator for Northern California Public
Broadcasting— WQED. She lives with her husband Brendan
in Oakland, CA.
Matt is a graduate of George Washington University and
lives in Boston.
He is pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology and
works at camp as the Assistant Director of Activities during the summer.
The Krouners'
commitment to children, excellence in camping and tradition continues
to this day.

Owen Pennant
Jones
Assistant
Director
Owen has been on staff since 1985 in a variety of capacities.
He has introduced many new programs to Schodack while at the
same
time has enthusiastically promoted all of the long-standing
camp traditions.
Dan Simson
Assistant
Director
Dan has been at camp since his initial year as a camper in 1987.
Few people know Schodack as well as Dan and as a result,
he has held almost every major supervisory position in camp.
His energy
and spirit make him a valuable member of this team.
Karen Offitzer
Assistant
Director of Bunk Life
Karen is a former camper, group leader and head counselor
at Schodack. Now a parent, she brings her love of children
and wonderful leadership
skills to all she does at camp.
Matt Krouner
Assistant Director of Activities
Matt has been at Schodack most of his life as a camper and staff member. His professional training, terrific rapport with staff and campers, and knowledge of all the camp activities make him a vital part of Schodack's success.
