Dining Hall
Campers love our dining hall and food options. We serve family-style at Schodack so the whole camp can enjoy meals together. At every meal we have a multitude of options including salad bars, pasta bars, deli station, soup bar, fresh fruit stations and vegetarian and special dietary alternatives – all in addition to the main dishes being served to the tables! We care deeply about staying up on the latest trends in healthy and delicious eating, so we bring in registered dietician Marlo Mitler (Nutrition by Marlo) to help craft our menus each summer! As a camp committed to living “green” we recycle and compost everything we can.

Allergies & Dietary Needs
We are proud to offer a safe and nutritious environment for campers with many dietary needs and restrictions, including celiac disease, dairy-free diets, and vegetarians. All of these options have been selected and planned by our registered dietician. We have a specialized chef who focuses strictly on allergies and special dietary needs and a totally separate gluten-free kitchen, free from all cross-contamination. We also have a dedicated Food Liaison at Schodack who sets up a meal plan with families prior to the summer and meets with campers at every meal to help them navigate their options and give them that extra support and feeling of home when they need it. We are also very proud to have been completely nut-free at Schodack for over a decade.
Health Center
Our air-conditioned Health Center is staffed by our pediatrician, a team of round-the-clock nurses and a Health Center Coordinator. Our Health Center staff are attentive and sensitive to the needs of each camper and are always highly communicative with parents. Health and safety are top priorities for us at Schodack and we have a long history of superb medical facilities and care. In addition, we are 10-15 miles away from three excellent area hospitals and minutes away from two local Urgent Care Clinics.
