Whether it is trying new activities, exploring new places in the great State of New York and beyond, or making new friendships that will last a lifetime, each summer is its own unique experience. We pride ourselves on our small size, our values and philosophies and our wonderful facilities. Every summer camp has its own distinctive feel and we believe that it is this ‘feeling’ that you get when you visit a camp that is the most important factor in making a decision to make it your summer home. A Chance To Learn, Grow and Develop

Our leadership team is totally dedicated to making sure that all of our campers needs are met during the summer. Because of our small size and amazing staff-to-camper ratio, our counselors will know your child on a totally personal level. This helps them ensure that your child has the absolute best summer experience possible. We meet all of our families personally while they are choosing a camp so we really get to know each and every camper at Schodack. It is this in-depth knowledge and close-knit and supportive environment that allows our campers to learn and develop new skills as well as push themselves to try new things.

Our program is a perfect balance between structured and choice activities. Our instructional activity periods are where campers learn new skills and improve their abilities through the teaching of our highly trained activity specialists. These sessions are complimented by choice periods each day where campers learn to develop their independence and further explore their interests in sports, drama, art and a range of other activities. Our combination of structure and choice gives your child the opportunity for wonderful group bonding with their bunkmates AND time to have choice over their schedule. Our campers love our program!

Incredible Camp Facilities in New York

Our Camp is ideally located just 2.5 hours from both Boston and Manhattan in the Capital Region of New York State. With easy access to museums, State Parks and cultural sites all around us we truly can offer the best that New York and New England has to offer. The real charm of Schodack however what we have within our amazing 100-acre facility. Aside from our traditional summer camp activities such as soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, lacrosse and more, we also have a huge indoor field house, 7 brand new tennis courts, 2 heated swimming pools, a high ropes adventure course, private horseback riding trails, access to a 400-acre lake and a 40 foot climbing tower.

Our cabins are all beautifully renovated with lots of space both inside and out featuring large porches with built-in seating. Our cabins all have high ceilings so they stay cool during the summer days but also remain warm at night. In addition to all of these wonderful facilities around the property we also have a large, multi-use Rec Hall, a 500-person Playhouse for performances all throughout the summer and a large outdoor amphitheater where the whole camp gathers for weekly camp events.

Amazing Staff Longevity

More than 90% of our bunk staff have grown up at Schodack as campers themselves. This is a statistic that is totally unique to Schodack, and is something that we are incredibly proud of.

Campers who choose to spend their summers at Schodack very rarely come for just one summer.

In fact, for many people, Schodack is a second home and our we have thousands of wonderful stories of the lifelong friendships and connections that people make here. Once children have completed their journey with us as campers they move on to our Leadership Trainee program, a 2-year experience designed to teach them all of the necessary skills to become future leaders both here at Schodack and in their life at home. When they graduate that program they return to Schodack as staff members and help create the same amazing experiences that they themselves had from their counselors when they were younger.
