Karen's Korner – New Activities in 2013!

05.16.2013

It was almost 80 degrees in NYC on Friday, warm enough to envision clear blue skies framing the rec hall porch, wisps of laughter coming from the playing fields, and grilled burgers and hot dogs floating gently to us to us from the cookout site: earmarks of a perfect summer day at camp.

As we take giant steps closer to opening day, we wanted to fill you in on some new activities we’ve added to our summer program. By now you’ve probably heard that Scuba Diving is coming to Schodack! Offered this summer to middle campers in the second half of our summer, campers will have the opportunity to work with professionals on beginning scuba lessons. We’re also excited to bring you Outdoor Cooking (Squiggle Fun Cakes, Anyone?), Cross Country Training, a new and improved Woodworking program, and an expanded Dance program, culminating in on-stage performances!

While we know that EVERYTHING at camp is new to our first-timers, we love creating activities that are new for our returning campers. We’ve spent the last ten months thinking of ways to enhance everyone’s summer, and are thrilled to add these popular activities to our jam-packed summer program!

Enjoy the remaining weeks of school, and get ready for the summer of your lives!!

Warmly,
Karen
