I wanted to share this interesting article, looking at how technology can impact the development of social skills in children. One of our core beliefs at Schodack is that our campers benefit from some “unplugged” time during the summer, where they expand their interpersonal skills and learn to more fully interact with the people and world around them.

There is no question that our modern gadgets (and we ALL use them) add conveniences to our lives that most of us can’t imagine living without, but they don’t erase the importance of being comfortable with face-to-face interactions and with learning to appreciate the natural environment.

Click HERE to read the article…note how the author even cites a study conducted at a summer camp…can you guess what the findings indicate?

Best, Matt
