Can you believe we’ve already reached Week 5? Time flies when you’re having fun and making the most of summer here at Schodack, with camp traditions around every corner. There’s still plenty of time to make even more unforgettable memories with lifelong friends!
We kicked off the week with the Rock Paper Snerson (Scissors) Contest, where Charlie Mangot passed his reigning title on to Shane Goldberg, who was crowned the 2026 champion. As Five-Day Tribals quickly approach, Tribal fakes are underway, and the suspense is building as everyone tries to figure out this year’s theme!
We’re all looking forward to Sunday’s Bunk Plaque Night, the final event of Triple Crown, where campers can’t wait to perform and share memories from this summer, as well as tonight’s performance of Heroes v. Villains. We can’t wait to see what they’ve been rehearsing!

What an incredible week it has been in the Acorn Division! Our campers have been busy making memories, trying new activities, and celebrating some exciting victories together.
This week’s special events were a huge success! Campers enjoyed The Mentalist, who read their mind and knew things that no one could believe! It was wonderful to see how much The Acorns enjoyed this special show. They also enjoyed a treat from the Kona Ice Truck.
The Acorn boys have discovered a new favourite activity-volleyball! They enthusiastically participated in a Newcomb tournament, showing great sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination on the court.
Meanwhile, the Acorn 1 girls have found a second home in the Playhouse. Many of them have been working hard and are excited to be taking part in the second session show. We can’t wait to see them shine on stage!
The Acorn 2 girls continue to impress everyone with their outstanding bunk pride. They extended their amazing clean streak by winning the Cleanliness Cup once again! Their reward was a well-deserved donut party, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
One of the biggest celebrations of the week came when Spain won the World Cup-our Acorn Division’s designated team! Campers were thrilled to celebrate with a delicious pizza and chicken tender party, followed by an ice cream sundae bar. It was a fantastic way to celebrate together and enjoy a sweet reward.
To end the night on a high note, the entire Acorn Division had the honour of leading Fire Circle. With the theme of Happiness, campers shared positive energy and smiles before everyone joined together to sing Walking on Sunshine. It was the perfect ending to a week full of friendship, fun, and unforgettable camp memories.

Junior Girls
What a fun-filled Week 5 we’ve had in the Junior Girls Division! We kicked off trip day with a visit to Grafton Lake, followed by an ice cream party and a movie. Campers also had an amazing time at the LT Carnival, enjoying all of the exciting activities and games on offer. We also took part in a fun session with Path to Rhythm. Many of our girls headed off on Adventure Trips this week and we loved coming together to watch Schochella!
The Beech Girls have been keeping busy enjoying all that camp has to offer and have also started painting their bunk plaque, adding their own creative touches to make it special!
The Cypress Girls have had a fantastic week creating dances for the Variety Show and working together to bring their ideas to life. They have been putting lots of creativity and teamwork into their performances.
The Dogwood Girls have been loving their time at the lake. They have also been enjoying cooking and learning how to make Hibachi!
The Hickory Girls were thrilled to win the Cleanliness Cup this week and celebrated their hard work with a well-earned Dunkin’ treat! They also had a camper take part in Schochella!!!!
Another great week in the Junior Girls Division is complete! We have loved seeing all the campers getting involved, trying new things, and making memories with their friends.

Junior Boys
What an action-packed week it has been in the Junior Boys division! From exciting special events to plenty of bunk fun, the campers have been making the most of every moment. This week’s highlight was The Mentalist, who stunned the boys with his knowledge and ability to read minds. They also loved another visit from the Kona Ice Truck. As the week comes to a close, excitement is building as every bunk continues practicing their BPN song, determined to put on their best performance and take home the final leg of the Triple Crown.
The Beech Boys have discovered a new need for speed! They’ve spent every chance they can behind the wheel at Schokarts, racing around the track and cheering each other on. Their enthusiasm and confidence have made it one of their favorite activities of the week.
Creativity has been on full display in the Cypress Boys bunk. The boys have been hard at work transforming their cabin into a collection of forts built from bed sheets, blankets, and plenty of imagination. Their camp spirit has turned rainy moments into unforgettable adventures.
Inspired by the excitement of the World Cup, the Dogwood Boys have been bringing their passion for football to the camp fields. They’ve been showing off impressive teamwork, and plenty of spectacular goals while enjoying friendly matches throughout the week.
As we head into another exciting week of camp, the Junior Boys are keeping their eyes on the prize. Every bunk is working hard to perfect their BPN song, supporting one another, and giving it their all as they compete for the final leg of the Triple Crown. We can’t wait to see them shine!

Middle Girls
Another week has flown by in Middle Division, and we’ve certainly packed plenty into it! Between archery, afternoons at the pool, and a volleyball tournament, there was no shortage of fun before another exciting week of special events. Of course, our unofficial Middle Girls favourite activity continued throughout the week too – bedazzling everything in sight!
The second Carnival of the summer, run by our fantastic LTs, was a huge hit! Campers spent the afternoon decorating cookies, getting their faces painted, testing out the brand-new soccer darts, and making the most of all the carnival fun.
We also enjoyed a bonfire in the amphitheatre, complete with s’mores, lots of laughs, and time spent together under the stars.
Trip Day took us to Grafton State Park, where a little rain certainly didn’t slow us down! We tucked into burgers and hot dogs, swam in the lake, played plenty of lacrosse, and, naturally, squeezed in plenty of handstands along the way. Back at camp, the fun continued with an ice cream party before our Junior and Middle Girls settled in for a cosy movie night watching Sing.
Wednesday brought our very first official rainy day of the summer – but if there’s one thing Schodack campers know how to do, it’s to make the most of it! We filled the day with flashlight sing, indoor relays, and, of course, dancing and laughing in the rain with friends. Around here, a little rain is just another excuse to make more camp memories.
As always, another week of smiles, friendships, and making the most of every moment. We can’t wait to see what next week has in store!

Middle Boys
Hello everyone!
Another week goes by and middle boys are still going strong, this summer feels like it has been flying in. Sequoia and Redwood boys have been loving the pool, especially their free swim where they are on the waterslides for the whole period. I joined Mahogany and Willow for cooking where we were making a Hibachi style meal, hopefully they bring some of their skills home and cook you a nice meal! I got the chance to take some of the boys to a basketball intercamp at Camp Greylock, they gave it their all and done Schodack proud.
On Sunday we enjoyed the second LT carnival of the summer, the LTs did a great job making stalls and games for everyone to enjoy. There was plenty of candy and snacks that were a smash hit with the middle boys. The Willow boys guessed the closest in a guess the number of skittles in a jar challenge and won over 2700 skittles (don’t worry we made sure they’ve been brushing their teeth).
On trip day we visited Grafton State Park to relax and play on the beach. Doug was cooking up a storm as usual, keeping us fed with burgers and hotdogs fresh off the grill. The rain did cut us short but we enjoyed some ice cream and a movie when we got back to camp. Wednesday was a very rainy day but it didn’t dampen our spirits, we played some classic rainy day games in the playhouse like Win-Lose-Draw and Tray Flip. To liven things up a bit in the afternoon we had a go on the waterslide!
Tomorrow marks the final leg of the triple crown: Bunk Plaque Night! Everyone has worked so hard to get their songs ready and the plaques designed by the counselors are completed, I can’t wait to see how they all do! As the second session continues Tribals is on the horizon, with fakes now taking place it could break any day now! All that still to come though, I’ll keep you posted.

Senior Girls
Wow, what a week it has been for the Senior Girls! From special events and rainy day fun to karaoke, bowling, and getting ready for the final leg of Triple Crown, we have been making the most of every moment!
Sunday was our second LT Carnival, one of our favorite camp events! The Senior Girls enjoyed a day filled with delicious treats, fun games, and tons of laughs. We enjoyed snow cones, cotton candy, cookies, and some games throughout the afternoon. It was the perfect way to spend the day together and another amazing LT Carnival! Throughout the week, the Senior Girls also made their way down to the lake which everyone always enjoys. The girls had a blast water skiing and showing off their skills out on the water. Everyone also loves knee boarding, and there were plenty of girls excited to get out there, hold on tight, and enjoy a ride around the lake!
Tuesday was trip day, and we headed off camp for a fun day of movies and bowling! All of the Senior Girls went to see Moana with some snacks and popcorn and enjoyed the movie together before heading over to the bowling alley. We had so much fun showing off our bowling skills and then we made our way back to camp after a great day off camp. Tuesday night, we kept the fun going with some karaoke. The Senior Girls sang their hearts out and it was a great ending to the day.
Wednesday brought us a rainy day, but that never stops the Senior Girls from having a good time. We spent the day staying dry, practicing our BPNs, and of course, playing one of our favorite and most iconic rainy day activities, tray flip! There was plenty of excitement as everyone tried to figure out if the tray was going to land on green or white.
Thursday was another incredible day at camp as the Mentalist made his return and gave us an amazing and entertaining performance. We also welcomed back our favorite storyteller, who had everyone laughing and listening to some of his most iconic stories, including the classic The Cat Came Back! It was so much fun having both of them back at camp for another memorable day.
With the final leg of Triple Crown and BPN coming up this weekend, everyone is getting more and more excited! The Senior Girls have been working hard, practicing, and cheering each other on, and we cannot wait to see what this final leg brings.
It is hard to believe how quickly the summer is flying by, but we are making sure to soak up every second, make the most of every day, and create as many memories as we can. So many exciting things are still to come, and we cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Charlie Senior Girls Division Head
Senior Boys
Wahooooooooo, week 5! Everyone is fully settled into their bunks, camp feels homey and the senior boys are embracing the 2nd session.
The Senior 1 boys have been loving their Team Handball Tournament, run by Brody Mailman, and enjoyed The Mentalist reading their minds for Special Event Day. Card games organized by Spencer and the soccer games organized by Dougie have been electric and major highlights. Some of the boys have been creating their own homemade golf course too! C1 and The Quad have had a week of fun that only Senior Boys can have.
The Senior 2 boys have been continuing their garden time, they love playing basketball there and always like to get Senior 1 and 3 involved. Cards are a big part of all of Senior camp and with all of the rain Senior 2 have been learning new games from their counselors. The special event brought back great memories for the boys as The Mentalist and Story Teller came back, they had huge nostalgia from their lip sync as The Story Teller told the story of the Cat coming back.
The Senior 3 boys have been working hard on their BPN, this year is going to be emotional, as some become waiters and others Super Seniors. They had a great surprise when they went to watch young Washington and others were incredible at bowling. The first fake of 5 day was shown and Kung Fu Panda was revealed, the Senior 3 boys cheered for Gooi as she pretended to be Grant (SPEC’s) father.
The Quad feels like a home and the senior boys a family.

LTs
The LTs are writing you this chapter from Montreal after another packed week. Last Friday we welcomed back Hope 7 for their second visit. It was a fun-filled event with water sliding, climbing tower, go karting and pool time. We are looking forward to renewing our friendships next summer. On Sunday the LTs ran a second Carnival for the whole camp and for Rookie Day – this was a fantastic event and the response from campers and staff alike was very positive. Monday saw the final challenge day where the final results of the summer-long challenge were calculated. The winners will be revealed at the Banquet in the final week! Canada is a special event every year with Jet Boating, a visit to La Ronde, fine dining in Old Montreal, the views and emotions of the scenic views on Mont Royal and then shopping at Roots! The week ahead looks fun as well, with Bunk Plaque Night and the much-anticipated LT show very much on the horizon. This is also the time when the second years focus on their permanent bunks and the first years are already starting to think about 2027 and where their area of specialization is likely to lie.

We’ve crammed so much fun and excitement into this week, from Schochella and the second LT Carnival to Special Events!
The LT Carnival had campers buzzing once again with favorites activities, including cookie decorating, cotton candy, and the return of the inflatables. This time, there was also the new addition of football darts, which quickly became a highlight, especially with campers competing to win medals! Once again, the LTs put on an amazing event that was fun for everyone.
A music festival came to the amphitheater with Schochella, where a number of campers showcased their talents by playing different instruments and singing. Once again, we were blown away by the talent. The vocals were especially impressive, and we can’t believe we’re only just discovering some of these amazing voices and talents!
Despite the rainy weather over the past couple of days, the fun hasn’t stopped. It has simply meant more indoor activities, movies, and competitions, including the classic rainy-day Tray Flip, where Toby Saunders from Beech Boys claimed the crown!
On Thursday, we welcomed The Mentalist, who blew our minds, and another visit from Kona Ice was, as always, a camp favorite. There were also plenty of stories shared with Kemp the Storyteller, whose evening performance had everyone laughing and singing along.
Friday brought a fun Division Day for Middle Camp, where campers enjoyed painting and spending time together.
Ultra Leagues and Intercamps
Ultra Leagues have been taking place left, right, and center! We had a mixed Newcomb tournament, with the Red Team coming out on top. Every team played incredibly well, and our younger campers proved that age was no barrier by showing fantastic Schodack spirit throughout. Soccer and Basketball Ultra Leagues continue and have second session campers stuck in.
For Intercamps, we visited Camp Greylock for 6th grade flag football. We also had a staff Intercamp basketball game, with our Seniors there to cheer everyone on. It was an extremely close game, but Schodack came away with the win against Camp Scatico!
