Eighteen of our first-year staff, recent graduates of our Leadership Training program, descended upon NYC this weekend for a full-day Teen LEADership Conference, sponsored by the American Camping Association. Attendees participated in workshops such as: Who’s your Role Model, Smashing Stereotypes, Pop Culture at Camp, Mean Girls and Rough Boys, and Difficult Conversations. They all enjoyed Steve Maguire’s motivational Keynote address, as well as improv games and a Q&A with Matt and Karen. Each of our great new staff members received their first official STAFF T-SHIRT and went home with a bag of goodies – and hopefully some intriguing new ways to think about their job at camp – from the conference.
