Welcome to Summer 2025!
After months of anticipation, Camp Schodack is finally buzzing with campers once again. New and returning campers have hit the ground running for Summer 2025. The energy was electric from the jump. Staff lined the path outside the Farmhouse with homemade signs, cheering and giant smiles, ready to welcome campers to their home for the summer.
Within moments, bunks were filled with laughter, old friends were reunited, and brand-new friendships were forming over settling in and name games.

Junior Girls
Hello from camp! It’s Samantha Bernstein, and I am so excited to be the Junior Girls Division Head for this summer! The Aspen, Balsam, Cedar, and Chestnut Girls started learning their bunk cheers, settling into their bunks, and getting to know their counselors and each other.
The Aspen Girls loved their time playing tetherball in front of the bunk throughout the day. The Balsam Girls had so much fun painting nails. The Cedar Girls loved playing Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza after lunch. The Chestnut Girls had some meditation (“medi-slay-tion”) time. It’s been a high-spirited kick-off to the summer!
We all had so much fun watching the Counselor Talent Show, a camp classic, for the first night activity as a camp!
I’ll be sharing highlights every week…stay tuned! We’ve got so many activities, special events, and trip days ahead! Yay Summer 2025!

Junior Boys
Summer is officially here, and the junior boys have been loving every second so far. It has been a blast with lots of smiles and laughter all around. It has been great connecting with friends and making lots of new ones.
The Aspen boys have settled into their bunk B3. First-ever night’s sleep at camp has been successful!! We settled in well after a busy day of opening day rotations. The bunkmates have gotten to know each other really well and are making friends for life.
The balsam boys are over the moon to be reunited and have lots of catching up to do. They have been talking and playing nonstop. Dobble has been a big hit as well as gibbet trading.
For evening activity, we had the counsellor show. The group leaders of camp put on a good dance, which entertained the junior boys. We all finished the day with cookies while we spoke about our best part of the day.
I am so excited for what the summer will bring us ….. GO JUNIOR BOYS!!!

Super Junior Girls
Hey SJG Families!
I’m Lilly Schiavo, your Division Head for the Super Junior Girls this summer. I’m a rising senior at Tulane University studying Psychology and Early Childhood Education. I’m absolutely thrilled to be here with your children—it’s been ten long months, and they were buzzing to arrive! The Elm, Maple, Hawthorn, and Oak girls are excited to be at the 12123!
Our first 24 hours have been nothing short of amazing. We kicked things off with the classic grilled cheese lunch—always a hit—followed by learning bunk cheers that had everyone beaming with excitement. Campers dove into their first day rotations, settling into the routine and building friendships already. The day wrapped up with our counselor show, full of funny skits and lively performances that brought big smiles all around.
It’s been a great start, and the energy here is already contagious. I’ll be sending you updates and highlights every week so you can stay connected with what’s happening at camp.
Here’s to an unforgettable summer together!
See you in the next update.

Super Junior Boys
Hi everyone!
My name is Russell Moss and I’m so excited to be the Super Junior Boys Division Head for Summer 2025! We have a fantastic schedule of activities and special events ahead, and I will be sharing weekly highlights so you can follow along with all the fun.
Our division is made up of four bunks: Elm, Oak, Maple, and Hawthorn. Each has its own packed schedule of exciting activities, and every night we come together as a full division for night activities, which will be a blast.
The first 24 hours have already been amazing! It has been heartwarming to see old friends reconnect and new friendships form so quickly. For lunch, we had the classic camp favorite: grilled cheese, tomato soup, and Goldfish. Our first-day rotations helped everyone get settled in and gave us a taste of how much fun this summer will be. We ended the day with the Counselor Show, where returning and new counselors had us all laughing with their skits and talents. Each bunk also learned their cheer to bring the summer spirit to life.
It has been an incredible start, and the Super Junior Boys are in for a summer to remember in the 12123. We are looking forward to a week full of sunshine, fun, and memorable activities with our friends. I will be sharing more about all the exciting happenings and highlights in next week’s newsletter.
All the best from the 12123,
– Russell DH
Middle Girls
Hi!
The first day back at Camp Schodack has been full of fun, laughter, friendship bracelets, and so many memories already for the Middle Girls! The Pine, Spruce, Sycamore, and Walnut Girls have been getting settled into their new bunks and reuniting with old and new friends!
Our first night activity was a counselor show, where all of the girls cheered on their counselors before going back to the bunk and having cookies for night snack. The first day of camp was such a success and an amazing start to the summer! We are all excited to continue making memories and make 2025 the best summer yet!

Middle Boys
Middle Boy Parents!
I hope the goodbyes were not filled with too many tears, because the middle boys are rocking and rolling through their first 24 hours. I’m Jack Cohen, the middle boys division head, and this will be my 11th summer at Schodack. I could not be more pumped! I am a junior at Syracuse University studying psychology and social work, and my goal is for each and every camper to come home saying that this was their best summer yet! I am thrilled that the middle boys have taken over the quad and have the opportunity to have various Spikeball, quadball, and Can Jam tournaments. I would have never thought that these campers were apart for ten months, as they have picked up like they never left, and boy, are your kids photogenic! They took some fire pictures. I cannot wait for their best summer yet!
I look forward to sending out updates of the middle boy’s summer saga!
#1 Division Head,
Jack Cohen
Super Seniors
Hey parents!
After months of counting down the days, the energy across camp is beaming, and the Super Seniors are more than ready to make this summer unforgettable. I’m Mae, the Super Senior Division Head, and I couldn’t be more excited to spend summer 2025 with such an awesome group.
Once the buses arrived, the super seniors jumped right into the camp routine, settled in, and were reunited with their best friends. The first day was full of excitement, from our opening rotations to the infamous Counselor Show.
We’ve got so much to look forward to this summer, from engaging night activities to the highly anticipated Super Senior Survivor events and spontaneous trips off camp.
I can’t wait to keep you updated with weekly highlights and stories from the Super Senior division!
With love from the 12123,
Mae DH
LTs
The LTs have had a fabulous start to the summer. The first bus arrived just a few minutes before 11 am, and in about fifty minutes, the Dining Hall and the Patio had been completely set up by the second-year LTs. At 12:30 PM, half an hour early due to the threat of rain, we opened the doors and welcomed the campers back to the Opening Day Tradition of grilled cheese and a tasty tomato soup. The service was seamless and the atmosphere electric. The LTs put out a flawless service – back-to-back servings with Upper Camp eating second – and we were off and running. The first ‘win’ of the summer…safely in the bag!
Credit to LTCs Bean, Jules, and Rya, and an outstanding LT staff – Emmie, Julia, Kayla, Sara, Suraj, Tom, Bodhi, and Bradley. Friday, the first years will be showing their talents in the Dining Hall. Our first training sessions were this morning, and this afternoon we met with all of the Little Brothers and Sisters. As I type, the second years are LTing in bunks and activities while the first years get their initial chance tomorrow. On Sunday, the first years will present the 18th renewal of All For One! This intra-bunk competition rewards those who participate the most, but it simply couldn’t happen without a large group of enthusiastic event hosts, and that is precisely what the LTs will be. Challenge Day teams will be revealed tomorrow after Fire Circle, and we are all looking forward to the first one, which will be happening very soon! The midnight oil is being metaphorically burned as Talent Show scripts begin to take shape and, all in all, the entire Program is very excited for the summer of ’25!

More From The First 24
The first day of camp was already full of moments to remember. Campers arrived to cheers, signs, name games, and a grilled cheese lunch in the Dining Hall. That night, the Counselor Show brought big laughs and talent to the Playhouse. On our first full day, campers rotated through activities across camp and new campers met their LTs during the Big/Little program. Camp is in full swing, and we’re so happy to have everyone back together for another unforgettable summer.
Big/Little Program
At Schodack, all new campers are paired with a Leadership Trainee (LT) as part of our Big/Little program. On the first day, each new camper receives a welcome letter from their LT waiting for them on their bunk. On Friday, Bigs and Littles officially met at the flagpole during 2nd Camper’s Choice to chat about camp life, play games, and start building a special connection that will continue throughout the summer.
Scoop Of The Week
The Schodack Scoop is our daily camp newspaper, delivered with breakfast each morning. It’s meant to celebrate our campers, highlight special moments, and help everyone start their day with something fun.
