Week 3 at Camp Schodack was jam-packed full of exciting events. From high-energy games and epic comebacks to inflatable water slides and a hit musical, the week was full of memorable moments. We kicked things off with Two-Day Tribals, soaked up the sun during The Wettest Day Ever, took fun off camp on Trip Day, and are now gearing up for Visiting Day and the end of First Session.
The weekend was all about Two-Day Tribals, which broke with an Alice in Wonderland-themed skit and the official announcement of this year’s teams: Green Vengeance and White Eclipse. What followed was two days of non-stop competition, spirit, and teamwork.
Campers competed in kickball, Football, Basketball, Steal the Bacon, gaga, lightning ball, running, and swimming medleys, and the classic Bucket Brigade. During the always-thrilling Hatchet Hunt, it was Austin Klein who made the big find, securing a key win for his team.
The grand finale was Rope Burning, and it was one for the books. Green Vengeance jumped out to an early lead, burning both of their ropes while White Eclipse lagged behind. But, the White team made a stunning comeback, burning their second rope in the final moments to take the win. The field erupted in cheers, and the spirit of Tribals was felt all across camp.
After a high-intensity weekend, the fun kept rolling. On Thursday, campers celebrated The Wettest Day Ever, a Schodack tradition with massive inflatable water slides.
We also had Trip Day, where Junior and Super Junior Camp traveled to Cooperstown, and Middle and Upper Campers went off for a day of bowling and a movie.
With Visiting Day tomorrow and First Session coming to a close, it’s hard to believe how fast time is flying. But there’s still plenty of fun ahead as we get ready to welcome our Second Session campers.

Super Junior Boys
Hi everyone,
What an amazing week it has been for the Super Junior Boys! We have packed in so many exciting activities and unforgettable moments. First, huge congratulations to the Oak Boys for earning 2nd place in the Cleanliness Cup and to the Hawthorn Boys for securing 3rd. Your hard work and teamwork are really shining through!
This week brought the much-anticipated Two-Day Tribals, and it was an absolute blast. From spirited cheers and face paint to nonstop friendly competition, the energy was off the charts. The boys competed in challenges at team handball, tennis, Scho-Karts, pool, pickleball, baseball, and more. The Elm boys enjoyed cheering on their Group Leader and 2-Day Tribals General for Green Vengeance, Aaron Dagless.
As always, the JCP has been buzzing with basketball games, gaga tournaments, four square, and tons of other group games. It is great to see kids from all four bunks meet one another and have fun while also hanging out with kids in their bunks.
Tuesday’s trip to Cooperstown was another major highlight. The boys had a great time exploring the Hall of Fame, picking out souvenirs, and sharing snacks and laughs with their friends.
Now, the bunks are buzzing with excitement and creativity as they rehearse for Friday’s Lip Sync event, which marks the second leg of Triple Crown. Costumes, choreography, and tons of spirit are in motion. The Dance Show is also coming up this week, and a few of our campers will be stepping onto the stage to show off their moves. We are so proud of them for putting themselves out there!
We also enjoyed the first session celebration with a silent disco and viewing of the first session slideshow, plus sweet treats to celebrate. Our activity counselor awards were another special moment, recognizing some amazing efforts from our first session campers.
With Visiting Day just around the corner, we are soaking up every minute of this magical first session. More fun is on the way and we cannot wait!
All the best from the 12123,

Middle Girls
The Middle Girls are back with another amazing and fun week at camp! 2-day Tribals broke on Friday night with a fun break, including a tea party with the characters from Alice in Wonderland, having cookies and pink lemonade.
The Spruce Girls had an epic dance battle and also played 9-square, earning many points for their teams. The Walnut girls had a competitive game of water basketball and had fun getting in the pool on a hot day. The Sycamore girls also got in the pool playing water volleyball, followed by a great game of basketball. The Pine girls had a great game of handball and showed a lot of spirit. Other events that occurred were a hatchet hunt, the dashes, medleys, and a very eventful rope burning to wrap up a very fun two days!
Tuesday’s trip day this week was bowling and a movie, where the middle girls had a choice to see Superman or How to Train Your Dragon. Everyone showed off their bowling skills, and it was a very successful day. Night activity was SPEC viewing, where the middle girls practiced their lip syncs for the second leg of the Triple Crown, taking place on Friday! Everyone is very excited and practicing dances and their lip sync skills.
Wednesday night’s activity was the play Shrek! A handful of the middle girls had big parts in the show, and we all cheered them on and were so proud of them for all of their hard work. Thursday’s special event afternoon was the wettest day ever, where there were so many inflatables for everyone to enjoy. It was perfect for another sunny day at camp. To end the day, we had AC awards, a slideshow, and the dance show! The night activity was a celebration where we all had a blast at a silent disco before late-night food in the dining hall, including cookies, ice cream, and some more treats!
It was a jam-packed week full of many events and a great way to end the first session! We can’t wait to welcome all of our friends and family this Saturday and greet our second session campers on Sunday. It is going to be a really amazing weekend, and another great session is coming up so soon. See you next week!

Middle Boys
Middle Boy Caregivers,
What a session this has been. I cannot even process how quickly it has gone. To all the first-session parents, thank you for sending your kids. I am going to be very upset to see them go. I hope they return with smiles on their faces, but secretly hope they are a little sad to leave behind their best summer yet. With that being said, this past week has continued with the stellar vibes. Two-day Tribals were a great deal of fun, with Green Vengeance taking the victory, but at Camp Schodack, we are all winners. The middle boys had a great time watching the new Superman movie and How to Train Your Dragon. We also had a grand old time at bowling, where they all bowled perfect games and looked very stylish in their bowling shoes. The week continued with a super exciting and competitive game of Middle Camp Assassin. They all got soaked on the wettest day ever with the giant inflatable slides. The boys are all super excited to see you this weekend, so I expect to see some giant signs with the boys’ faces. Make sure you stop by to say hi to me as well, so I can tell all of you how much they have been brushing their teeth.
The saga is in the middle of its story, with so much more to be written!

Super Seniors
It has been another wonderful week here at camp for the Super Seniors. We had an amazing 2-day tribals, with Super Senior lieutenants being a part of the 2-day leadership team! Both bunks competed in some cooking challenges, the girls played some water sports, while the boys played an intense game of soccer.
We held another thrilling Super Senior Survivor series, full of relays, puzzles, and teamwork. This week, the tie-dye team won and headed off to 16 Handles to celebrate!
On Tuesday, we had a relaxing trip day that started off with an extra lazy morning. We slept in, and then headed to Cosmic Bowling and then to the movies, where we saw Superman.
The Super Seniors are looking forward to upcoming special events, including the wettest day ever, Lip Sync, and of course, visiting day!
See you next week!
With love from the 12123,
Mae DH
LTs
As we near Visiting Day, the LTs continue to excel in a wide variety of areas all across camp! 2-Day Tribals was a welcome change, and LTs were seen participating at a high level in many events. Special shoutout to Nathan Bilenker and Lily Roth, who won their Championship Dashes across the soccer field. Waiter Football was extended into two periods, so closely matched were the teams, while CIT Water Basketball continues to prove a favorite for the girls. Monday saw the third of our Challenge Days, and with Red emerging the winners of Gamblers Day, the overall title is now totally up for grabs after three teams have each won a day. After a Trip Day of Cosmic Bowling, we cheered on the campers’ production of Shrek in the Playhouse on Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed a trip out for ice cream at Lickety Split that evening. As I write, both groups are engrossed in preparing their Lip Sync performances, which will take place in the hours after you read this on Friday evening. We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, where the LTs will hold the line, preventing the campers and parents from meeting up before the clock strikes ten o’clock precisely.

More From The Week
Beyond the excitement of Tribals, Week 3 had even more unforgettable moments as we wrapped up an amazing First Session.
The Dance Show lit up the Playhouse with incredible performances from campers across all divisions. From expressive solos to high-energy group routines, the night was filled with creativity.
This week’s Fire Circle featured the telling of the infamous story, “Uncle Lou Hated Rocks,” a Schodack classic. The story reminded us of the traditions that make this place so special.
To cap off First Session, the whole camp came together for a festive Celebration. Campers were treated to ice cream sundaes scooped by staff, danced their hearts out at a Silent Disco in the Playhouse, and took part in one of the most meaningful traditions of the summer: the AC Awards. During the ceremony, Activity Counselors recognized campers for their dedication, improvement, and positivity in each activity area.
Shrek The Musical!
This week, the Playhouse was transformed into a swampy fairytale land as campers took the stage for Shrek the Musical!
With just a few short weeks to rehearse, the cast and crew pulled off an incredible performance under the direction of our new drama counselor, Miller. The campers’ dedication and hard work were on full display, and the result was a performance that had the audience laughing and cheering.
Every camper involved, from lead roles to ensemble, set crew to costume helpers, brought the story to life. Bravo to all!
Intercamps
Camp Schodack had another action-packed week filled with intercamp tournaments and incredible teamwork!
Our 6th and 8th grade boys traveled to Camp Pontiac for flag football, where they showed off their athleticism, effort, and Schodack spirit in every game they played.
At home, our 3rd and 4th graders took on Camp Scatico in basketball and soccer. The games were competitive and full of energy, with our youngest athletes stepping up and playing with heart on both ends of the court and field.
We also made a trip to Scatico for a coed tennis tournament. Eliza and Liv played with determination in the singles bracket, while Scarlett & Ruby and Marley & Ilana worked together seamlessly in doubles, making deep runs. Though the girls didn’t advance to the finals, it was an impressive and brave showing in a sport many don’t typically play competitively.
A huge congratulations to Ash Sadeghi and Evan Lipshutz, who brought home 1st place in the doubles bracket!
This week, our Waiters and CITs hosted Camp Scatico for an awesome night of basketball and soccer—and the blackout theme made it even more exciting. The sidelines were packed, the energy was electric, and both teams showed up ready to play. Our CITs crushed it on the soccer field with a big 9–3 win, moving the ball well and playing with great teamwork. On the court, the Waiters played with focus and fire, pulling off a solid basketball win in front of a loud, pumped-up crowd. All around, it was a night full of fun, spirit, and Schodack pride!
Scoop Of The Week
And that’s a wrap on the third week at Camp Schodack! We’ll be back next Friday with more stories, highlights, and moments from Week Four.
