For any new families…hello! We are your Communications Team and we look forward to sharing lots of camp updates with you in our Weekly Newsletters which will be released every Friday! Our Second Session started with a huge rush of energy. The buses and cars rolled in and a mix of new friends and familiar faces filled camp with so much positivity. Throw in some name games, tours of camp and a perfect lunch of grilled cheese and tomato soup and Schodack is in full swing for the second half of camp!!!
The evening activity of Counselor Show was a huge highlight with so many wonderful acts for campers to enjoy. There were dances, songs, a Ryan’s Zumba, the traditional “bean” skit and the Krouner’s singing a new rendition of a familiar song. We ended with “Friends” all together in the Playhouse…what could be better!?!?!? There’s so much to look forward to…Summer 2025 continues to be amazing!

Hello from camp!
Happy first week of the second session! We kicked things off with a fantastic Trip Day to Grafton Lakes State Park. The girls had a great beach day and enjoyed a special BBQ lunch cooked by Doug and Grace—yum!
Here are some highlights so far:
The Aspen Girls had a blast making ramen in the camper kitchen during cooking!
The Balsam Girls loved their climbing period on the rock wall!
The Cedar Girls had a super fun Wednesday morning hockey period, and even raced straight to archery from hockey for a running game!
Some of our Aspen Girls also went on an off-camp camping trip Wednesday night, and a big shout-out to the Junior Girls who participated in the always-popular Schodack Foodie Focus Group during Second Camper Choice!
Thanks for tuning in. We can’t wait for all the fun still to come.
Bye for now! 🙂

Junior Boys
It has been a fantastic week for the Balsam Boys of B3/B3A. The junior boys are having an absolute blast. They are certainly having a great time and the energy is high! We have been spending a lot of time with our friends from the super junior boys on the JCP.
Night activities have been really fun this week. The night activities included counsellor show, tv night and build it! The boys build a sandcastle of camp which took up half the volleyball court!!!
We have enjoyed the lake and the boys have picked up a lot of speed banana boating. Lots of tight turns meant the boys ended up in the water many times… Ice hockey and camping were also fun things some of the bunk got to do this week! Arts and crafts was also fun when the boys got creative with model magic.
We are making new friendships, learning new things and making the most of every day in this second session. Time is going fast but we are looking forward to what the next 3 weeks will bring us 🙂 🙂
Super Junior Girls
It has been a wonderful and busy week for our Super Junior girls! We have loved welcoming our Second Session campers!!!! It has been heartwarming to see the entire group come together so quickly.
We had the classic and iconic rainy-day activity… Tray flip!! We made the most of the clear skies that followed with a full day of outdoor activities, capped off with trip day to Grafton Lake State Park. There, the girls swam, played, and ate a delicious cookout meal.
It’s been a great first week of second session filled with new connections and fun times.
Keep you posted!
Best, Lilly DH
Super Junior Boys
Hi everyone,
Another amazing week at Schodack!
On Sunday, we welcomed many new friends to the Super Junior Division. The energy was incredible from the start. Our full-season campers welcomed our new friends so warmly. We jumped right into activities and didn’t let a little afternoon rain slow us down. The annual Tray Flip event, led by OPJ, kept the excitement going until the sun came back out. We closed the night with the always-creative Counselor Show, which had everyone cheering and laughing.
Monday brought a full day of action-packed fun. Between Camper’s Choice and regular activities, the boys enjoyed so much, including the lake, pool, Scho-Karts, cooking, gaga, arts & crafts, hockey, and baseball. All three bunks were busy having fun and smiling all day long.
Some campers had the chance to go fishing, which was really exciting, while others had private tennis lessons with Tom Bain, a great opportunity to learn new skills and get some extra practice. Plus, the Oak Boys got second place in the Cleanliness Cup.
The week’s highlight was definitely our Tuesday trip to Grafton Lakes State Park, where we spent a beautiful day enjoying the sunshine, playing games, relaxing with friends, and enjoying a delicious BBQ lunch together.
We wrapped up the week with a special event afternoon on Thursday, featuring Kemp Harris the storyteller, a visiting magician, and an ice cream truck, all of which had the boys totally amazed and engaged from start to finish.
Looking forward to another incredible week ahead!
All the best from the 12123,

Middle Girls
Welcome second session campers! We are so excited for the rest of our summer with all of our friends! It was sad saying goodbye to our first session middle girls but we are so excited for the session ahead with old and new friends!
Starting off this week we had the second session counselor show where all of the middle girls cheered on their counselors as many sang songs and danced in front of the camp.
This week so far all of the middle girls have made it down to the lake where everyone knee boarded, water skied, and rode on the banana boat which is a middle girl favorite. Also every middle girl has made many more friendship bracelets this week and are showing off their artistic skills.
The Pine girls had a really fun time at the pool showing off how fast they can go and great swimmers they all are!
The Spruce girls practiced their skills at volleyball during their activity period and also during campers choices!
The Sycamore girls are practicing their amazing talents at gymnastics and learning new tricks along the way!
The Walnut girls climbed all the way to the top of the climbing tower with speed and skill and also had a really fun time at the ninja warrior course!
On Tuesday we had trip day to Grafton! Many middle girls swam, played volleyball, spikeball, and threw a football around with one another. It was great weather for a beach day and for lunch we had a cookout with hotdogs and hamburgers! Everyone had an amazing day off camp.
Some middle girls this week went off camp to various intercamps including a chess and soccer intercamp and many more to still come this week where we will host other camps.
This week’s Thursday event was a magic show with some being volunteers in some of the acts and we were all blown away at what the magician could do. We also enjoyed ice cream today and ended the day with the storyteller where the cat did come back! It was another amazing day at camp and can’t wait for more special events coming up soon.
We had such an amazing start to the second session and are looking forward to the rest of the summer still to go!

Middle Boys
Middle Boy Mentors,
Boy oh boy, has this been an exciting week! Second session is in full swing, and these campers feel like they’ve been here since the start. The quad vibes are immaculate. Before this summer, I didn’t even know what a diabolo was but now they’re soaring through the air and being spun in any open space. The boys were in full beach mode this week, playing wiffle ball, spikeball, and lounging in the water at the lovely “real” beach, Grafton. Abracadabra! The middle boys disappeared when an awesome magician showed us some of the coolest tricks. Don’t worry, they all reappeared at the ice cream truck, with smiles on their faces and ice cream smeared all over them. It was delicious! Another week, another middle boys tournament! This time it was a very competitive and fierce handball showdown, with goals being scored every which way. It was so nice to see where the campers get their charm from after meeting you all on Visiting Day. I had a great time meeting everyone, and I sincerely thank you again for making the trip and for sending your kids here. Camp is flying by in the blink of an eye but do not fear because there are still plenty more opportunities for memories to be made. With that, the only thing left to report is the smiles on their faces each and every day. Talk to everyone next week and don’t miss your kids too much!
The saga continues its stories with some new characters and new adventures to be had.
#1 Division Head,
Jack Cohen
Super Seniors
The Super Seniors kicked off the second session with an exciting first week!
We started strong on Sunday with a trip to the Valley Cats game, where we cheered on the team, and snacked on ballpark favorites. On Monday, the boys ventured to the Stephentown house for a special overnight where we had MyPlace and reminisced on some past Triple Crown events.
Tuesday’s trip day was packed with fun as we cracked codes at an escape room, played lots of mini golf, and ended the day with sweet treats from Lickety Split. That night, it was the girls’ turn to take over the Stephentown house, where they caught up on favorite TV shows and enjoyed a cozy sleepover.
Thursday brought even more excitement with Kemp the Storyteller, a magic show and a soft serve truck!
This weekend, we’re looking forward to Carnival fun and more thrilling Survivor events. See you next week!
With love from 12123,
Mae DH
LTs
An astonishing week for the LTs began a few hours after our most recent installment was published. Both the Waiters (Grease) and the CITs (Hamilton) performed brilliantly at Lip Sync. The standard was extremely high, but the Waiters surpassed themselves with their sportsmanship by applauding generously when the CITs were awarded the title. How do you follow an act that may be in the top ten ever seen on the Schodack stage? By the CITs putting on possibly the greatest performance ever seen. It was that good. The LTs were front and center greeting the new campers on Sunday – 8 of them took buses at 2:15 am to greet campers in NYC and Westchester while others helped arriving campers find their bunks, and everyone unpacked the new arrivals so that the transition to meeting new camp friends was as smooth as possible. The Big Little event at Camper Choice is where the LTs met with their ‘Littles’ to help welcome them to camp! Since then, we have had a keenly contested challenge day which leaves the overall scoring very close leading into the final event. We were ice skating for Trip Day on Tuesday = as well as sampling the Tahitian Vanilla Bean at 16 Handles. If you haven’t tried it….After LTing yesterday The LTs will compete in the annual Rock, Paper, Snerson tournament tomorrow night, where Shane Goldberg will attempt to defend his title in the greatest individual, all-camp competition that there is. Somehow we will present the second Carnival on Sunday afternoon, complete with the Day At The Races spectacular!
More From The Week
On Trip Day Tuesday, Junior and Middle Camp headed off camp for a Beach Day at Grafton Lakes State Park. Everyone had tons of fun splashing in the water, building sand castles, playing beach volleyball enjoying the vibe. Upper Camp went Ice Skating and loved being on the ice! Super Seniors also spent a night at a fabulous Airbnb in Stephentown, NY where they got some bonding time and enjoyed hanging out in a special place.
Our Thursday Special Event afternoon was a huge hit…Eric Wilzig the Magician came for an electrifying performance that left the crowd stunned. We also had a visit from Jimie’s soft serve ice cream truck and had a pool party. To finish off this incredible day, Kemp Harris the Storyteller returned for what is always a highlight of every summer at Schodack!
UltraLeagues + Inter Camps
This week, our Waiters hit the road for a basketball game at Camp Greylock, bringing strong effort and great energy to the court. Our Super Senior girls competed in a soccer tournament at Camp Lenox, showing grit and teamwork throughout the day. Over at Camp Pontiac, our 5th and 6th grade girls made an impressive run to the soccer semifinals, playing their hearts out in each match. We also sent a group to Camp Scatico for a chess tournament, where Tate Shalov reached the semifinals and Nathan Peled battled his way to the finals. And our 1st Year CITs represented Schodack in a volleyball intercamp at Scatico, playing hard and showing amazing spirit on the court. Another awesome week for Schodack all around!
It’s been another fun-filled, action-packed, tremendous week in the 12123. We hope you enjoy these updates and look forward to more updates from the Comms Team here at Schodack!!!!
