The first week of Camp Schodack 2026 has been incredible and fun filled. From the Annual Night at the Races to the first Fire Circle of the year, campers and staff reflected on loyalty through songs, stories and meaningful stick dedications to one another. The LTs also hosted an amazing All for One, packed with inventive activities and games that had every involved.
Campers jumped into Annie auditions, and cast rehearsals are now underway. We can’t wait to watch all of their hard work come to life on stage in a couple weeks! We’ve all been enjoying the new waterslides in the sunshine and the campers casted their votes for their favorite slide.
There is so much to look forward to in the coming week, with of course our Fourth of July celebrations and the Talent Show, where everybody is excited to perform and cheer on everyone else.

Wow! What a week it has been for the Acorns here at Schodack. They have been busy learning their bunk cheers taking inspiration from Justin Bieber and K-pop demon hunters they are making sure they are heard all over camp. This has been a week filled with so much joy, excitement, and magic. With the first trip of the summer to zoom flume yesterday the acorns are learning all the joys of a summer at Schodack.
Acorn boys have dove headfirst into all the activities, giving it their all and showing off their skills in kickball, basketball, and archery to name a few. They also made a splash with their first lake period where banana boating and water skiing were definitely a fan favourite. The Farmhouse has been filled with dance parties and Lego extravaganzas; Acorn Boys really know how to have fun!
Acorn 1 Girls have only been here a week and are already breaking records with the longest flower chain, getting a permit spot in the famous book of records! Acorn 1 Girls have shown themselves to be an adventurous bunk spending most camper choices on the zip line or going down the new pool slides!
Acorn 2 Girls had a blast at our special event afternoon “All For One” hosted by Schodack’s amazing LTs, gaining so many points for their incredible participation and enthusiasm. The bunk is also showing themselves to be expert cleaners winning the first cleanliness cup of summer 2026!
What an amazing first week already stuffed with lifelong memories and friendships. I cannot wait to see what the rest of summer holds for the Acorns!

Junior Girls
Hey Junior Girl Families!
Camp has started off with a bang, and we’ve already packed so much fun into our first few days! From exciting adventures to unforgettable evening activities, the Junior Girls have been making the most of every moment while building new friendships and creating amazing memories.
One of the highlights so far has been our exciting trip to Zoom Flume, where everyone had a blast cooling off and enjoying the rides! Our evenings have been just as fun, with activities like Human Bingo, Scavenger Hunts, and plenty of laughs together.
Here’s what each bunk has been up to:
Beech girls enjoyed their first lake session after successfully completing their swim tests. They also had a great time at archery and Campers’ Choice, where they completed a CC Bingo sheet and won some awesome prizes!
Cypress girls have been keeping busy with their favorite fidgets, spending time at the lake, getting creative in Arts & Crafts, and making colorful friendship bracelets to share with their new friends. Some of the bunk also had an incredible time on their adventure kayaking trip with our amazing Adventure Duo, Katie and Alex!
Dogwood girls have been full of camp spirit as they learned their bunk chant to Firework by Katy Perry. They had a blast out on the soccer field cheering each other on and successfully passed their Schokart tests!
Hickory girls challenged themselves on the climbing wall before racing around on the Schokarts and even enjoyed an exciting ride on the banana boat. They also worked together to win the A–Z Scavenger Hunt!
The energy around camp has been incredible, and it’s been wonderful to see everyone stepping outside their comfort zones, trying new activities, and supporting one another. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store for our amazing Junior Girls!

The Junior Boys are thriving in the 12123. All bunks have been to the lake and had a great time giving the activities a go. The first trip day was a huge success and everyone had a great time at Zoom Flume!
The Beech boys are enjoying jibet trading wherever possible, and can often be found at archery during campers’ choice.
Whether it’s GaGa or tether ball the Cypress boys can always be found on the JCP
The Dogwood Boys love to explore the different activities at campers’ choice, and love a new challenge.

Middle Girls
The Middle Girls have jumped right into camp life and haven’t slowed down for a second! From the lake to the pool, the kitchen to trip day, every day has been packed with laughs, new memories, and plenty of Schodack spirit.
One of the biggest highlights so far was our trip to Zoom Flume! The girls spent the day racing down slides, splashing around, and making memories with their friends. Back at camp, the Camper Kitchen was a huge hit as everyone got creative making the viral Dippin’ Dots cakes. We’ve also been loving our time at the lake with waterskiing, kneeboarding and banana boating.
Each bunk has been finding their own favorite way to spend the summer:
The Sequoia girls has been making the biggest splash at the pool, especially on Schodack’s brand new water slides!
The Willow girls have been loving gymnastics and practicing cheer tricks!
The Mahogany Girls have been getting creative in arts and crafts and have been decking themselves out in friendship bracelets!
The Redwood Girls have been loving every challenge at the rock wall and Ninja Course with their CAIL Maisie.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Middle Boys
The first week has flown by and the Middle Boys have had a brilliant start to the summer!
The swimming pool has been popular with the whole division and the new slides have been a smash hit with every camper! (I am also a big fan of the slides). Cooking during camper’s choice has been a popular pick, the quesadillas have been Michelin star quality.
Willow boys had a great time at archery working on their shooting skills, and Mahogany boys enjoyed an action packed game of hockey. Sequoia have enjoyed making dot cakes in cooking, and Redwood had a blast at the lake!
We had our first fire circle of the summer led by our very own Willow Boys, they did great leading with the theme of Loyalty. Ultra Leagues has also started with a draft combine at basketball and flag football games in the well. And All for one had all the bunks running around in the sun racking up points for participation.
Zoom Flume was the first trip day of the summer and the boys had a blast enjoying the water slides and chilling by the wave pool. Triple crown will begin soon, with talent show fast approaching the bunks have been working together preparing their skits ready to entertain the whole camp. The first few days have been flying by, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer holds!

Senior Girls
Hello Senior Girls Families!
What an incredible first full week it has been for our Senior Girls! Our bunks have been filled with laughter, friendship, and excitement as everyone has settled in and jumped right into camp life.
One of the biggest highlights of the week was our first Special Event Afternoon: All For One presented by the LTs. The girls had a blast rotating through all of the activities, showing amazing teamwork, spirit, and enthusiasm every step of the way. A huge congratulations to Senior 3 for taking home the All For One Championship! Their name will officially go into the book of records and a special prize is coming soon.
The Senior Girls have also been making the most of the beautiful weather with a trip down to the lake and lots of time enjoying our brand new pool slides, which have quickly become a camp favorite! Down at the lake, campers have loved waterskiing, kneeboarding, and one of everyone’s favorites, banana boating. Each senior bunk has also been busy enjoying activities across camp. The Senior 1 girls had a fantastic flag football period, showing off their speed and teamwork. Senior 2 brought their A-game to softball with drills and a fun mini scrimmage. Senior 3 had an exciting tennis period playing the classic game of jailbreak, while Senior 4 spent time on the volleyball courts rallying, practicing skills, and having a great time together.
During activity periods, campers have been getting creative in cooking by making delicious dot cakes, and during Camper’s Choice they whipped up tasty quesadillas. It has been so much fun watching everyone spend time with friends throughout the division and their own bunks.
On Tuesday, everyone was so excited for our first trip day to Lake George! The girls had an amazing time shopping around town, enjoying ice cream, relaxing by the lake, and of course, picking up classic Lake George souvenirs, including postcards, t-shirts, and sweatshirts to remember the day.
Earlier this week, we also gathered for our first Senior Camp Bonfire & Bucket List Night. Everyone enjoyed making s’mores around the fire while creating bucket lists filled with ideas and special events they hope to have throughout the summer. We loved hearing all of their creative ideas, and we can’t wait to bring many of them to life over the next several weeks!
Our girls have also been hard at work preparing for the first leg of Triple Crown, Talent Show! Practices are already underway, and we cannot wait to see all of the incredible performances this Sunday. The excitement around camp is contagious, especially with another exciting special event just around the corner.
Week one has been filled with smiles, friendships, unforgettable memories, and so many game changing moments already, and we know this is only the beginning. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store for our amazing Senior Girls!

Senior Boys
Wahooooooooo, WEEK 1! What an incredible start to Camp 2026!
This first week flew by in the quad for the senior boys, from intense games of spikeball to relaxation in the hammocks of C2 and C3, can’t forget the late night porch talks at C1. Lake George, was the first trip day and the boys bonded with the LTs, enjoying a glimpse into their future. They felt the breeze by the beautiful water and enjoyed awesome eats!
Senior boys LOVE handball. Rec periods turn into counselors and kids teaming up, in competitive fashion, with great sportsmanship. Meanwhile, 9 square is thriving with all of the bunks joining in! Even the GYM has visitors!
Cooking was a HUGE hit this week, dot cakes were on the menu and Senior 2 had so much fun when the LT’s were helping them! (They were delicious) The pool was shared by all of the senior boys, experiencing the waterslides for the first time and creating massive waves in the water.
Fire circle was all songs, laughter and a great TREE story from Paul, the senior boys went all black and looked stylish for the first coming together of the summer.
This week has been all about togetherness, I have felt an overwhelming sense of community in the quad and between the bunks this past week.

Longest Days but Shortest Weeks’ is a reality at camp, or at least for The LT Program. At the end of each evening, it is astonishing how much has been accomplished. And yet you wake up today and practically a week has gone by. All For One went off without a hitch – the first years ran all of the different events, while the second years encouraged and assisted the campers who scored higher than in recent memory. Since then, our first Challenge Day was awesome – based around the Holidays. The whole camp watched in awe as the LTs ran around all of camps in their Yellow, Grink, Blue and Red colors. We’re only just getting started here but the Special Yellow Team realizes it has a very hard road ahead if it’s to defend its title, with Blue making the early running. Trip Day was spent at Lake George for the First Years while many of the Second Years helped the younger campers enjoy the watery wonders of Zoom Flume. This Sunday we will be on stage performing the first leg of the Triple Crown – Talent Show. The LTs are an amazingly positive presence on camp and the campers especially love Tuesdays and Thursdays when the LTs spend most of the day with them.

More From The Week
It’s been a jam packed week full of activities! Some campers were thrilled to earn their Schokarts license after not being old enough last summer. They also got creative in Cooking by making the viral dot cakes and Camper’s Choice is proving to be a tough decision, with so many great activities to choose from. The zipline, especially for the Acorns, has been a stand out choice.
Everyone has settled into camp life perfectly and bunks have been bonding learning their cheers, chants, and songs.
The first trip day of the summer took place on Tuesday, with campers heading to Zoom Flume Water Park while the older campers explored Lake George. Both trips were the perfect way to cool down, relax, and spend time with camp friends. An overnight camping adventure was another highlight of the week where they made tents, swam in the lake and played Uno sounded like so much fun!
Sunny days call for cooling off in the pool and at the lake. Campers have been trying waterskiing, canoeing, and kneeboarding, and they’re already looking like pros, especially considering it’s only Week One!
It’s been the perfect way to kick off an amazing summer.
Harlem Wizards V Schodack Staff
The Harlem Wizards took on the Schodack Staff in a lively game that brought a little magic to camp and had campers and staff cheering from start to finish. There were plenty of laughs, incredible trick shots, and impressive moments as the Wizards showed off their skills while our staff gave it their all. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough, as the Wizards came away with the win, but that didn’t stop the Schodack spirit!
It was a fantastic event that brought the whole camp together and had everyone smiling and talking about it long after the final buzzer. We even had some of the girls perform an amazing halftime dance, then the campers joined in by shooting hoops and taking part in musical chairs, with prizes being won left, right, and center.
The Schodack Staff gave it their best and had some impressive trick shots of their own, but the Wizards had a few magical tricks up their sleeves, leaving everybody in awe.
