Week Three brought Tribals, the LT Carnival, Annie the Musical, trips, and Lip Sync! It was a very busy, but of course extremely fun, week at Schodack and the final week for all of our First Session campers.
We kicked off the week with Two-Day Tribals. After many fake Tribal breaks, the real Trolls-themed Tribal break left everyone wearing a colorful wig! Plenty of points were earned through a variety of activities over the two days, but the highlights were definitely the Hatchet Hunt, Bucket Brigade, Competitive Medley, and Dashes.
Tribals had everyone involved, with teams working together and dressed head to toe in their team colors for Green Illumination or White Diamonds. Camp spirit was at an all time high. It was neck and neck throughout, especially during the Rope Burning finale, and the suspense had everyone’s full attention before White Diamonds claimed victory.
Countless unforgettable memories have already been made during Summer 2026, with even more still to come, starting with Lip Sync tonight, as everyone is buzzing around camp practicing their routines! With First Session coming to a close and Visiting Day tomorrow, time is flying by, and we’re making memories that will last a lifetime.

Acorns
What an amazing week it has been for all the acorns here at Camp Schodack! The acorns had their moment in the spotlight making the most adorable debut in the play Annie on Wednesday. They partied hard at the Magen group special event and cooled off with some delicious soft serve ice cream. The kids loved their trip to Howe Cavern where they learnt all about the amazing caves. The whole acorn camping trip was an outstanding success, with many s’mores and even more laughs and stories around the fire. We hosted Schodack’s first Acorn pizza making party!
Acorn 1 girls have been busy making even more rainbow loom band bracelets and key chains. Acorn 2 girls have been enjoying working on their lip sync mastering all their dance moves and lots of taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza games. Acorn boys have been knee deep in jibbitz training and becoming a force to be reckoned with in the gaga pit!!
Just a few highlights from the 12123, first session has flown by and I can’t wait for all the fun activities to come!!!

Junior Girls
What an exciting week in the 12123! We had an unforgettable trip day exploring the caves at Howe Caverns, welcomed the Magen Boys for a fun visit, and cooled off with a sweet Kay’s Ice Cream. The long-awaited Tribal break finally arrived, and everyone was surprised with colorful Trolls-themed wigs! The White Diamonds took home the win! We also had amazing swimming and soccer intercamps that brought lots of energy and friendly competition to the week.
Here’s what each bunk has been up to this week:
The Beech Girls have been having fun at all of our inter camps and tribal activities like the medleys and dashes.
The Cypress Girls have a number of talented performers participating in the camp play and have been busy preparing for their big performances.
The Dogwood Girls have been making bucket lists, showing off their Tribal spirit, and bringing lots of excitement and enthusiasm to the division.
The Hickory Girls are determined to reclaim their Cleanliness Cup crown and have been working hard to keep their bunk sparkling clean!
We are so excited for Visiting Day to arrive and can’t believe that First Session is already coming to an end. We’re looking forward to making the most of these final days together and creating even more unforgettable memories!

Junior Boys
Junior Boys have had another incredible week at camp and have been making the most of every moment! We loved going on trip day, Howe Caverns was amazing. We all watched the production of Annie, a fabulous night activity. Tribals was amazing, we all loved the activities and cheering for green and white.
The Beech Boys are in full swing preparing for lip sync, we can’t wait to see what they have been working on. They loved a dance party with Magen Group last week and are looking forward to the celebration too.
The Cypress Boys are still loving the JCP and jibet trading is our favorite pastime. Also working hard for their lip sync coming up and we’re excited. Cypress Boys have been loving the lake too and making the most of all it has to offer!
The Dogwood Boys love playing card games when they can, but also love a good game of soccer. They loved tribals and all the new activities it brought, with rope burning a high light!
Our Junior Boys are still thriving in the 12123 and we’re all excited for visiting day.

Middle Girls
The Middle Girls have had another exciting week at camp, with every day bringing something new to look forward to! We started the week with LT Carnival, where the girls enjoyed an afternoon filled with games, face paint, cotton candy, and even the chance to dunk some of their favorite staff members in the dunk tank!
Our Middle Division trip day was another favorite, as campers headed off for an afternoon of movies and bowling. Whether they chose Minions& Monsters, Moana, or Supergirl, everyone enjoyed the movie (and some very generously sized boxes of popcorn!) before showing off their bowling skills.
The biggest excitement of the week came with our Trolls-inspired Break and two unforgettable days of Tribals. Campers were surprised with colourful wigs before dancing together to kick everything off, before the wigs came off and everyone split into their Tribals teams: White Diamond and Green Illumination. From Bucket Brigade and the Dashes to the Medleys and an incredibly close Rope Burning finale, every event was full of excitement, with the competition staying neck and neck until the very end. Congratulations to White Diamond on taking the overall win, and a huge shoutout to Green Illumination for an incredible competition. The best part of Tribals, though, was watching everyone come back together afterwards, singing Friends side by side and celebrating another unforgettable camp tradition.
In between all the special events, the Middle Girls have been busy making ramen in the Camper Kitchen, creating colourful tie-dye projects in Arts & Crafts, enjoying volleyball, heading out on an exciting white water rafting trip, and representing Schodack at swimming intercamp. It’s been another week full of adventure, laughter, and opportunities to try something new.
We can’t wait to see what next week has in store!

Middle Boys
Hello again!
Another week goes by at Schodack and the middle boys are having the time of their lives. The participation and energy from every camper has been electric! Mahogany boys brought home the cleanliness cup with a near perfect week of cleanup scores, the bunk is immaculate. All four bunks competed in a handball tournament that saw the Redwood boys come out on top, showcasing some top notch teamwork and sportsmanship. Everyone enjoyed trip day to movies and bowling, Minions was a very popular choice with the boys. Everyone had a great time bowling with lots of strikes and lots of fun.
At long last 2-day tribals broke and it was two days of non stop action and fun. The boys got to enjoy games of hockey, soccer, and basketball as well as the dashes and medleys. The Sequoia Boys got to support their Group Leader Jackson Dennin as he led White Diamond. Rope burning was an exciting event with both teams finishing mere seconds apart, with white diamond winning both rope burning and tribals overall! At the end of the day everyone had a good time and gave it their all.
On Thursday we got to enjoy the wettest day ever with some inflatable waterslides slides on camp. Lip Sync, the second leg of triple crown is now fast approaching and the bunks are all putting the finishing touches to their routines. Visiting day is approaching marking the end of our first session and we are making every day count!

Senior Girls
The Senior Girls are back with another incredible week at camp filled with fun, laughter, and so many unforgettable memories!
The week kicked off with 2-Day Tribals breaking on Saturday night with an exciting Trolls-themed break! Everyone was surprised with colorful Trolls wigs, and the energy was high as the girls celebrated the start of an amazing two days of Tribal competition. Throughout 2-day, everyone gave it their all in the dashes, medleys, activity periods and a very exciting rope burning to close out an unforgettable 2-Day Tribals. The spirit and teamwork were on full display, making it an incredible experience for all of the Senior Girls!
Tuesday’s trip day took the senior campers roller skating, where everyone had a blast showing off their moves, racing friends around the rink and hanging out. Then we headed to Lake Taghkanic for a beautiful day by the water! So many girls got in the water, played cards, read books, played spike ball and volleyball and overall had an amazing day off camp! That evening, the girls got right back to work practicing for Lip Sync as they prepared for the second leg of Triple Crown. Every bunk has been putting in so much effort and we can’t wait to see all of their performances!
Wednesday this week was special for the girls where we had a special event afternoon titled wellness Wednesday! The girls spent the afternoon painting tote bags, enjoying face masks, and writing thoughtful notes to one another. It was such a fun and relaxing way to spend time together while celebrating the friendships that make camp so special. After our event everyone gathered to watch the camp play Annie together and we cheered on the girls that were in the production. We wrapped up the evening with a catered Chipotle dinner shared with all of Senior Camp, followed by an awesome pool party. It was a pretty great Wednesday here at camp!
Thursday brought even more excitement with one of camp’s favorite special event afternoons, The Wettest Day Ever! The afternoon was packed with giant inflatables and a visit from the Kona Ice truck to cool everyone off on another beautiful summer day. We ended the afternoon with our slideshow before heading into celebration, where everyone enjoyed another fun filled evening together.
It has been such an amazing week full of camp spirit, friendship, and unforgettable memories. We are so excited to welcome so many families to camp this weekend and can’t wait to show everyone what the Senior Girls have been up to. We know the fun is only going to continue, and we can’t wait to share even more memories next week.

Senior Boys
Wahooooooooo, Week 3! Only a few days left of the first session, the time has flown by!
I HAVE to talk about Wednesday the 15th of June. This was the senior boys DIVISION DAY! All of the senior boys started their afternoon with the most energetic, intense and insanely fun basketball tournament. They had gatorade and candy, on the side as they supported each other and their coaches(staff) hyped them up for this awesome tournament.
Then came the PLAY, where members of the whole camp put on an incredible showing of Annie. The talent at camp was clear to see as songs were sung and campers showed off their acting skills. Multiple senior campers made the show run smoothly as they worked hard as the back stage crew.
Now it’s dinner time and the whole Senior Camp enjoyed CHIPOTLE! The staff put in a shift as the chipotle servers and the kids couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was. We finished the night with a pool party for the boys and girls as they cooled down for the night and relaxed. Light music was playing and the vibes were feeling cozy.
This was only ONE day at Schodack. Yes, it was a special day but every day at Schodack is special in its own way and I’m so happy I get to be a part of this magic.

As we approach Visiting Day, the LTs continue to perform very well in a wide variety of events across camp! The Carnival at Rookie Day was a great success and the campers had a fabulous time because of the LTs’ efforts. 2-Day Tribals was a welcome change and LTs were seen participating at a high level in many events. Shoutout to Nathan Bilenker who won his Championship Dash across the soccer field, and to Tom Takasaki for his continued prowess in the pool. CIT Water Basketball continues to prove a favorite activity for the girls. We had a fabulous sports night with Camp Scatico – their boys just pipping us in basketball while the girls played to a dramatic 3-3 tie under the lights in the well. After a Trip Day of Funplex and good dining, we cheered on the campers’ production of Annie in the Playhouse on Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed a trip out for ice cream at Lickety Split this evening. As I write, both groups are rehearsing their Lip Sync performances which will take place in the hours after you read this on Friday evening. We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, where the LTs will hold the line, preventing the campers and parents from meeting up before the clock strikes ten o’clock precisely.

More From The Week
It’s been non-stop this final week of Session One! We started the week with the LT Carnival, where campers could get married, enjoy cotton candy, decorate cookies, be drawn as a unicorn, and so much more! Everyone either had beautiful face paint, some sort of candy, or both. The LTs put so much thought into every detail, even naming the mocktails after themselves. The dunk tank was back and was a standout attraction, giving campers the chance to dunk their favorite staff members or older campers.
Meaningful camp traditions continued with Fire Circle, and campers who excelled in their activities received awards from the Activity Counselors, recognizing all of their hard work, positivity, and improvement throughout the first session. Trip Day included more movies, bowling, cave adventures, and plenty of yummy treats!
We also had the Wettest Day Ever on Thursday, complete with inflatables, snow cones, and a slideshow featuring photos and videos that captured all the fun and memories from the session. We ended the celebrations with a silent disco dancing the night away with friends and then a ice cream party!
As we come to the end of our first session with Visiting Day tomorrow, we’re sad to say goodbye to some familiar faces while getting ready to welcome our Session Two campers. We can’t wait for everyone to be back home at Schodack. Let’s see what exciting adventures Session Two has in store for Summer 2026 at Camp Schodack!
Annie the Musical
Annie the Musical was a huge success! The talent we have here at Schodack is incredible. We have lots of triple threats on our hands, with beautiful singing, fantastic acting, and campers who truly got into character. Campers and staff were there to support the cast and thoroughly enjoyed every second of the performance.
All of their determination during rehearsals paid off as they brought a little bit of Broadway to the 12123, with many in the audience singing along to the iconic songs. For many campers, it was their stage debut, and they truly stole the show.
The sun definitely came out, and so did the smiles because, as Annie reminds us, you’re never fully dressed without a smile!
We are so impressed and proud of every single camper who was involved, from the actors and crew to those who helped with the set and costume design. Under the direction of our Drama Counselor, Rachel, it was a brilliant performance. A huge round of applause to everyone!
