We are well underway into Session Two of Camp Schodack Summer 2026, and what a fun week it’s been, filled with reunions, trips, performances, and special traditions. So many incredible memories have already been made, and we still have plenty more to look forward to in the coming weeks. This is just the beginning of Session Two!

Welcome to all of our new families! Every Friday, we’ll update you on the fun activities we’ve been enjoying at camp, sharing moments, memories, and photos that capture all the excitement.

After a rainy, but nevertheless amazing, Visiting Day, we welcomed more campers, and they settled in instantly like they’d been here all summer. Friends and staff were beyond excited to reunite with returning campers and welcome new ones with tours and name games and catch ups! The energy has been unmatched, with smiles and laughter everywhere you look.

We kicked off the session with the traditional Counselor Show, featuring singing, dancing, and performances from many of our talented staff and had everyone in the Playhouse dancing along with them!

Acorns

What an unforgettable week with the Acorns! It was a week full of reunions, new beginnings, exciting events, and so many memories that will last long after summer ends.

We kicked off the week thrilled to welcome all of our second session campers to the Acorn family.

For an evening activity, the Acorns showed off their talents with a fun-filled Karaoke Night, where campers enthusiastically grabbed the microphone and sang their hearts out. It was a night full of confidence, laughter, and lots of applause!

The Acorns are celebrating their World Cup victory, loved the Game Show special event day and the visit from our local ice cream truck. We also had an amazing bonfire this week with s’mores and lots of laughter.

As we begin our next session, we are excited for all the adventures still to come. Thank you to all our new campers, and congratulations to everyone for another fantastic week in Acorn. We cannot wait to see what next week has in store!

Junior Girls

What a fantastic week we’ve had in the 12123! From movie day adventures to overnight fun, it has certainly been one to remember. Campers headed to the movies to watch either Toy Story 5 or Moana. We also loved making even more memories during our division overnight.

The Beech Girls have been making the most of their school kart licence and had an amazing time showing off their skills!

The Cypress Girls wowed everyone with their first-place Mufasa-themed Lip Sync performance! They have also been loving their time at the climbing tower and continue to take on new challenges around camp.

The Dogwood Girls have been busy bedazzling everything in sight and did a wonderful job welcoming our new campers this session.

The Hickory Girls were thrilled to reclaim the Cleanliness Cup this week! Their hard work and dedication to keeping their bunk sparkling clean certainly paid off.

We can’t believe how quickly the summer is flying by! The Junior Girls continue to bring so much positivity, spirit, and excitement to each day, and we are looking forward to making the most of the rest of the session together.

Middle Girls

There has been no shortage of fun in the Middle Division this week, with one exciting event after another keeping our girls busy!

As we welcomed our second-session campers, we kicked things off with the always-entertaining Counselor Show. The iconic Bean skit had the whole division laughing and was definitely a crowd favorite! Although the weather changed our Trip Day plans, the fun continued as the girls enjoyed an afternoon of roller skating before settling in to watch either Moana or Toy Story.

It’s been a fun week filled with activities and a great special event afternoon on Thursday. The girls have been having a blast.

From welcoming old friends back, meeting new ones, and making memories with both, our Middle Girls have embraced every opportunity, made the most of every moment, and are already off to an amazing start to Session Two!

Middle Boys

Hello!

Second session has now begun! We got to welcome our new middle boys on Sunday, our full session campers did a great job welcoming everyone to their bunks. The weather was good and we got straight into some activities. We closed the night with the counsellor show which kept us entertained with some skits, songs, dances, staff lookalikes and staff classmates.

Monday saw many of our boys head to Camp Scatico for a baseball tournament where they came 2nd overall! They had a great time and played very well. A few boys have also been on white water rafting trips with adventure. A rather wet trip day didn’t dampen our spirits as we enjoyed rollerskating and a movie! Toy Story 5 and Moana were the movies of choice, and we all had some tasty snacks to go along with the films.

On Thursday, for special event afternoon, we had a quiz and game show! The boys did a great job showing their knowledge and had a blast. Next week marks the final event of the Triple Crown: Bunk Plaque Night! The bunks have already been writing and practicing their songs, and the counselors are busy designing and painting the plaques for their bunks. The second session has been fantastic so far, I can’t wait to see how the next weeks go!

All the best,

Ewan DH

Senior Girls

Welcome Second Session Senior Girls! We are so excited for the rest of our summer and all of the amazing memories still to come! While it was definitely sad to say goodbye to our first session Senior Girls, we are so excited to welcome back returning campers for an incredible second session!

We also had an awesome trip on Tuesday! The girls had so much fun taking on an escape room challenge exploring the mall and hanging out with their friends. There was plenty of teamwork, laughter, and a little bit of friendly competition as everyone worked together to try to escape. Luckily everyone got out even if they needed some hints along the way.

On Wednesday we had a great day of activities across the division. The Senior girls made their way to the climbing tower, golf, tennis, volleyball, and the ninja warrior course and we all ended the day at the pool enjoying the new slides and the summer sun. All of the girls are also getting ready for BPN, the last leg of Triple Crown, which is quickly coming up next weekend! To end our day we had a bonfire in the amphitheater where many stories were told and many smores were eaten. It was another great and packed day at camp.

At camp on Thursday we had a special visit from Hollyrock Entertainment. It was some friendly competition with fun games intertwined and overall was a fun afternoon. We also had Path to Rhythm, where the girls got to show off their musical talents during an incredible drum circle. The energy was amazing, and it was so much fun hearing everyone making music together! We ended Thursday with an exciting night of trivia where everyone put their knowledge to the test and had some musical hints along the way making for a great ending to the day.

Our Senior Girls have also been having an absolute blast at the Schodack Diner during cooking! Everyone has been getting creative in the kitchen, trying new recipes, and, most importantly, having so much fun together while cooking up some delicious food.

It has already been such an amazing start to our second session, and we cannot wait to see what else is in store! There are still so many memories to make, friendships to strengthen, and adventures to have. We are so excited for all of the fun still to come!

Senior Boys

Wahooooooooo, Week 4! The first week of the second session has been a huge SUCCESS!

After visiting day, the senior boys said goodbye to a few of their friends but they gained even more friends with the 2nd session campers. Old friendships were back on track and the Quad felt like it had embraced a boost in energy, the vibes were immaculate and the kids were thriving.

This has carried on throughout the week with the kids enjoying another trip to Cross Gates mall, where they had to work in teams to escape 5Wits escape rooms. Some took on the challenge of the tomb escape, others tried to save their ship in outer space. After the escape, the senior campers explored the mall, took rides on the mall mini motorbikes and spent some of their trip day money.

The senior boys loved special events this week. Path to rhythm had the boys making music, Holly rock game show had all of Senior camp competing against each other and Jimmie’s Ice Cream made its yearly return. The boys loved their lake period this week, knee boarding and water skiing was top of their highlights of the week!

Overall this week was all about old friends reuniting and those chill 2nd session vibes kicking in!

LTs

An amazing week for the LTs began a few hours after our most recent installment was published. Both the Waiters (Taylor Swift Tour) and the CITs (Beetlejuice) performed brilliantly at Lip Sync. The standard was amazing and it is to be hoped that the second session campers get to see a reprise of these performances at the LT Show. The LTs were front and center greeting the new campers on Sunday – 6 of them took a bus at 4:15 am to greet campers in Westchester while others unpacked the new arrivals so that the transition to meeting new camp friends was as smooth as possible. The Big Little event at Camper Choice is where the LTs met with their ‘Littles’ to help welcome them to camp! Since then, we have had a closely-contested challenge day which leaves the overall winner in doubt leading into the final event. We went bowling for Trip Day on Tuesday and after LTing  yesterday The LTs will compete in the annual Rock, Paper, Snerson tournament on Friday night. This weekend after the musical fest that is Schochella on Saturday night, we will present the second Carnival on Sunday afternoon.

More From The Week

Another week of non-stop fun in the 12123! We kicked off Session Two with shows, National Ice Cream Day, and a Big/Little event where first-time campers got to meet their Big, build their connection, and bond over everything Camp Schodack has to offer.

There were adventures both on and off camp this week, including fishing trips, an overnight trip to the state park, golf, and ice hockey. Rainy Trip Day weather also called for trips to the movies and roller skating!

On Thursday, campers became the stars of their own TV show for our special event, complete with trivia rounds that put our thinking caps on. Some also had the chance to show off their drumming skills with Path to Rhythm, where everyone learned a new talent! Of course, it was all followed by a visit by an ice cream truck!

Each week keeps getting better and better, and we still have Schochella, Bunk Plaque Night, and, of course, Five-Day Tribals to look forward to in the coming weeks!

Ultra Leagues and Intercamps

It’s been a busy week for Ultra Leagues and Intercamps! We started the week by visiting Camp Scatico on Monday, where our 8th grade girls competed in softball, while the 8th grade boys took part in a baseball tournament and secured an impressive second-place finish. We are so proud of them all!

On Wednesday, our 5th and 8th grade boys traveled to Camp Greylock for flag football, and on Friday morning it was back to Greylock, this time for the 4th grade boys’ flag football games. Everyone involved gave it their best and represented Schodack so well. On Thursday night, we returned to Camp Scatico for tennis, where both the boys and girls played so well. We then headed to Camp Greylock for basketball, making it another busy day in the life of Intercamps!

Ultra Leagues have also continued throughout the week with basketball and soccer on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for Junior, Middle, and Upper Camp, along with Senior Girls Volleyball on Thursday afternoon. Campers have been playing incredibly well while showing fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship.
